From Zero to Production: The StayVia Stack

Building StayVia from scratch was one of the most ambitious engineering projects we've taken on. Not just because of the complexity — an escrow-based booking system with wallet management, real-time messaging, and identity verification — but because we had to make it work reliably on African infrastructure.

Our stack choices were driven by three priorities: reliability, performance on low-bandwidth connections, and developer velocity. Every technology decision was made through that lens.

The result is a platform that handles bookings, payments, messaging, reviews, and dispute resolution — all with sub-second response times even on 3G connections.
